I work in the Investment Team at ECI. So, that means I try to find, meet and invest in exciting growth businesses and then do my best to support the teams at those business to scale into global market leaders.
I have worked as an investor now since 2015, having started my investment career at BGF, a growth capital investor. Prior to that I worked at a boutique bank and also as a corporate financier at Deloitte, where I trained as an ACA.
I am originally from South Manchester and before the world of work, I studied History at Durham University. I had a specific focus on the native cultures and peoples of North America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Fascinating and incredibly diverse fields of study.
“I was a plant porter at the Tatton Flower Show, helping people move their newly acquired trees, statues and fountains around – all aided by my trolley and apron.”
“The variety of the work and the great company leaders that we back. We invest across multiple businesses in multiple subsectors, with their own market dynamics, competitors, opportunities and threats. I really enjoy supporting such diverse and engaging entrepreneurial journeys.”
“Tsotsi. It’s a crime thriller based in South Africa. I believe it won an Oscar as best foreign language film. To sum up (without ruining it), it captures the journey of a young gang member in Johannesburg who regains his humanity as the film progresses. I will leave it there, but I highly recommend it.”
