KB Associates is an independent provider of management company (UCITS and AIFMD) and consulting services, committed to delivering unparalleled expertise and quality of service. It advises managers on governance, operational and compliance issues relevant to the establishment and ongoing management of investment funds.

Internationalisation:

  • Our Origination Team supported KB Associates in mapping the European market for potential M&A opportunities. KB Associates’ first international acquisition was a Luxembourg-based management company. This acquisition provides a platform for further organic expansion in Luxembourg.
  • KB Associates have also now opened a MiFID investment firm in Malta to assist clients with distribution of investment funds in the EU.

People & culture:

  • We have helped the management team to build out its Board through introducing a new chairman, Martyn Philips, and supporting the hire of new CFO, Dermot Caden.
  • The team has joined the Diversity Project, a cross company initiative to improve diversity, equality and inclusion in the investment industry.

Since our investment in 2019, KB Associates has delivered significant growth in its core management company business with AUM increasing sixfold over the past two years to in excess of €120bn. In 2022 KB Associates reached an agreement to join the Waystone Group, the global provider of institutional governance, risk and compliance services, delivering a return of 3.7x.
