We’re delighted that ECI partner, Rich Pearce, has been selected as one Private Equity International’s 40 under 40 future leaders in the Operators category. PEI’s editorial team reviewed more than 200 nominations and selected the 40 individuals that stood out for their leadership and innovation skills, the calibre of the firm they worked for, deals they have supported, and an X Factor that marks them out as future leaders in private equity.
Rich joined ECI’s Commercial Team in 2019, with the directive to deliver value creation across our portfolio. Since then, his outstanding contribution has been invaluable in the success of ECI’s recent investments and exits. As a result, the business promoted him to the Partnership in January 2024.
The X Factor
Rich supported 4 exits by leading the value creation initiatives during the investment and delivery of VDD materials at exit, all of which achieved exceptional results: Tusker (6.2x MM), MiQ (6.1x MM), Travel Chapter (2.7x MM) and MPM (4.3x MM).
To further drive demonstrable value at exit, Rich took stewardship of the People & Culture function growing its status and success across the portfolio. A major part of this was building and promoting ECI’s People & Culture Toolkit (a comprehensive library of resources to benefit the portfolio), which has been implemented by 75% of portfolio companies.

He also mentors people internally, with employees looking to him for guidance because of his natural leadership abilities.”
