We’re delighted to announce that ECI has been B Corp Certified, joining a community of businesses leading a global movement for an inclusive economy that considers people, planet, and profit.
Established in 1976, with c.50 employees across its offices in London, Manchester, and New York, ECI joins a small number of UK private equity firms to become certified by B Lab™, the non-profit network, for meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
For ECI, its B Corp certification represents the next stage of its ESG journey. Having started assessing portfolio companies against an ESG framework over a decade ago, it has since then made ESG a core component of its investment process and invested in its own ESG capability. This has included launching an ESG Toolkit which supports management teams with initiatives from setting a social value strategy to decarbonisation, and ensuring they have robust cyber security in place. ECI has also supported management teams through the process of achieving B Corp Certification themselves, with previous portfolio company, the high-quality natural pet food producer, MPM, now certified.
