Ash chatted to The Drawdown about some of his achievements since joining ECI, which have included building robust IT systems in the cloud that are scalable and made the transition to remote during the pandemic (comparatively!) easy. He also outsourced IT services to an MSP so that he can focus more on strategy and governance.
The Drawdown highlighted Ash’s work within cyber. Ash is quite unusual within the private equity space in that he has a dual role, as IT Director for ECI and also as Head of Cyber, supporting ECI-backed companies to manage their cyber governance and raise cyber security awareness within their organisations, using a top-down approach.
Ash also discusses exciting projects coming up, such as moving ECI onto a data warehouse infrastructure so that we can better leverage machine learning capability. He is also supporting the portfolio on a number of projects, building and developing cyber programs, and supporting them to complete a cyber gap analysis.
